背景:Panpan and Tom were visiting Tom′s Chinese teacher Mrs. Lin. They found Mrs. Lin was busy in preparing for the new term. There were so many new books on her desk.

盼盼、Tom:老师好!
林老师:你们好!
盼盼:老师忙吗?
林老师:很忙,你们呢?
盼盼:我们不太忙。

Tom:Sorry, I only understand several words.
盼盼: Ok, I′ll explain to you. After greeting Mrs. Lin, I asked “老师忙吗?” which means “Are you busy, Mrs Lin?”. We can answer with “我很忙” or “我不忙”, which means “Yes, I′m very busy.” or “No, I′m not busy. ”“不” is a negative adjective, which means “not” or “no”.
Tom: But your answer sounds different.
盼盼: Yeah, I said “我们不太忙”, which means “We are not very busy”. “太” means “very “or “extremly”.
Tom: But I remember “很” also means “very”. What′s the difference?
盼盼: “很” can′t be used after “不” directly.
Tom: So we can′t say “我不很忙”, right?
盼盼: Right. And in the positive sentence, “我太忙” means “I′m extremely busy” or “I′m too busy”, not just “I′m very busy”.
Tom: Oh, I get it. Thank you!
盼盼:Ok. Let′s have a review.
(重新放一遍刚才的对话)
盼盼、Tom:老师好!
林老师:你们好!
